Going Big

You asked for it, and we’re happy to oblige. Mpress Digital is pleased to a announce our newest service… our Large Format printer Printing Department is now printing posters, banners, trade show displays, floor and window graphics and more!

We’ve installed the most advanced, most environmentally-friendly devices on the market today, including the HP Designjet L25500 60″ wide printer. This printer uses “Green” latex inks to create odorless prints in eye-popping color for outdoor and indoor applications. Media options include: gloss, matte and specialty papers, canvas and vinyl. Mounting options include: foamboard, gatorboard and sintra.

Mpress has always provided extraordinary customer service. Now we have the complete range of printing services to handle all your needs.

A Good Month

February is almost over. It has been a really awful month for riding my bike… too cold and wet. But it’s been a great month for business.

We’ve seen a lot of activity from people going to trade shows and just generally promoting their businesses. I’d like to think that this is a trend. Only time will tell.

The addition of Large Format printing (posters, banners, etc.) to our services portfolio has already started to pay. I didn’t expect activity level in this department to be so strong so soon.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for next month. Of course, I do that every month.

Community Giving

The past two years have been really difficult. That’s not big news to our staff, clients or vendors. Almost everyone seems to have taken a big financial hit. Our gross sales in 2009 and 2010 have been significantly lower than previous years, but survivable. And a combination of cost cutting and technology investment has helped dramatically. We are thankful to our many wonderful and faithful clients and vendors who have supported us through this period.

But there are many in our community who aren’t so fortunate. It has been an especially rough time for charities, non-profits and the people they serve. The demand on their services has climbed as grants and fundraising dollars have been harder to come by.

That’s why we’ve elected to use a portion of our profits throughout the year to make things better for non-profit organizations and charities. I won’t name names here, but over the past year we’ve donated about $26,000 in discounted and gifted services. At Mpress, all non-profits (and their are a ton of them) receive, at the very least, a substantial discount.

One of the great things about Santa Cruz County is that so many businesses give generously to these organizations. And why not… the need is great. After all, there are many reasons to be in business, and trying to make the world a better place is one of them.
